When it comes to folk rock in Canada, you have to acknowledge the pioneering influence of Ian & Sylvia Tyson and especially the Brilliance of their work as The Great Speckled Bird. Whether this is ‘country rock’ or ‘folk rock’ is really irrelevant. It is shocking to think it was released in 1969.
